Hey everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day. We went to visit our grandma in Pittsburgh, PA for the weekend. We had lots of fun and our grandma came back to stay with us at our house for the week! Yay! I've got a card tonight for the Lawnscaping DT Call. I would love, love, love to be on this DT. It is such a wonderful challenge! Here is my entry.
By the way, I apologize for the horrible photos. I made this card today, and had no choice but to take the photos after dark. Sorry!
The "challenge" was to show your style, and I think this card shows it quite well. My style is clean and simple, with an artsy look thrown in alot of the time (splatters are something I'm using all the time!)
I used watercolor pencils to color the leaves/branches and then cut them out by hand.
Oh, and I also wanted to say that I do make papercrafting videos, but I did not have time to create one for the DT Call....but in case you want to see past videos, here is my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/bethanysbantams
First I'll share the inspiration photo which was taken from a past SPARKS challenge, then I'll show you the card I made using the photo as inspiration. :)
I was inspired by the plates on the wall, and I used that on my card as leaves flowing up the card.
Onto the next card!
I was inspired by the three panels in the photo. So I decided to have 3 different panels on my card.
I stamped the branches, leaves and flowers, then colored them in with some watercolors I made with dye inks. I also added some splatters to the panels before adhering them to the card. The sentiment was stamped after everything was adhered.
Next up is....
Here I was inspired by the banners on the inspiration photo.
So I cut a couple banners out, then stamped them and colored them with some watercolors.
Now I know that the banners looked worn and a bit messy, but that is the effect that this card is supposed to have, with the splatters and everything. Messy yet pretty! :)
And now onto the final card:
This time I used a Cool Shades color palette as my inspiration!
Now this is the favorite out of all the cards in this post.
I love, love, love the dots in the Gently Seasoned set...so I just had to use them! I stamped them over and over again to create the free flowing circles look on the circles.
I added a sentiment in black.
By the way, I know the photos in this post aren't real good, but I didn't take them in good light...but I'll try to do better next time!
And, as you can see, I did the row of Punches or Dies, Bling and Birthday!
Here is my card:
I used Sketched Shapes again...I know, I know. I should stop, but I can't. This set is way too much fun!
I die cut a bunch of the images from Sketched Shapes, then stamped them, and adhered everything. I gave some of the shapes a bit of dimension. I also stamped everything in two colors....blue and pink, and where they crossed over they made purple! Very fun!
I have to work today for a couple hours, and then I hope to come home and maybe make a few cards.
Hey there! I hope you have been having a wonderful week. We got a little over two facecords of wood stacked today...yes! I've got a card for the current 10 Minute Craft Dash. The colors were oh so gorgeous! Here they are:
And here is my card:
I didn't have any inks that exactly matched the colors, but I did my best to pick some that were close.
I used the Sketched Shapes set...again! I know, I've been using it alot, but I cannot get enough of it!
I didn't really do anything special for the card. Just pretty much stamped everything right on the card.
I finished the card in 6 minutes and 1 second. Yay!
Yesterday was so rainy here! It poured and rained on and off most of the afternoon. We even got stuck outside in some of it. Not that we wanted to go in..me and my sister were at my best friends William and Emma's house having lots of fun outside with them and another of my friends, plus my sister. We were in the woods out in the back of their house and it started raining. But it actually felt really good, since we were all sweating from running so much. And the woods were so beautiful and green.
That is all for me today! Have a great weekend and a wonderful Mother's Day!
Hello...and good afternoon. Hope that wasn't too many post for ya last night. Anyhoo....I have a card today for the current CAS(E) This Sketch challenge! Here was the sketch:
And here is my card:
I hope you can see how I used the sketch on my card. I didn't want to have more than one layer. I stamped a bunch of banners, along with some other shapes on the bottom across the card, and then, up further, where it shows another panel and the sentiment on the sketch, I stamped a collage of various shapes and a sentiment.
I love the colors here. So cool and refreshing looking, don't you think?
Well, thats all for me today!
I have to work today, so I have to get ready to go. I'm only working for a couple hours, so when I get home I am planning to get my fingers inky!
