Today I Am Thankful

Happy New Year's Eve! I hope you are enjoying your day! I've got a fun card to share:

I stamped the circles and the "i am thankful" and then added the enamel dots, which I desperately need to buy more off. Oh, how I wish there was a Archivers around here! But, Simon Says Stamp will do. :)

I plan on being back tomorrow with a fun New Year's card!

My Favorite Cards That I Made of 2013

Here are my own  Top 10 Favorite Cards of 2013, in no particular order: (get ready for a loooong post with lots of pictures!)

This is one of my favorites because of the artistic, free look of the whole card. And because I used enamel dots! ;)

This one is a fave for me because I use patterned paper and I paper pieced, which is rare for me. And I had so much fun making this card.

I used a mask/stencil for the one above, and I love how the inking turned out. Oh, that, and the splatters.

The inking on the triangles is what makes this one of my favorites.

CAS. And that is why I love it.

Colorful and fun. Plus I love circles.

I love all the banners on this one. And also because Nichole Heady said she liked it. :)

I love this because of the rich colors and the placement of everything.

I actually used flowers, so that is a big deal for me. And I used wood shapes!

It's a shaker card! And it uses glitter! :D

So that's it for me today! Have a nice night!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas Eve! It is actually snowing! Yes! I was afraid we were going to have a very brown Christmas, but it looks like it is gonna be a white one! I've got a fun snow-scene card to share.

This was oh, so fun to make. I started by inking a backround on the card with some various blue inks, then I stamped the hills and the trees. After that I stamped the snow, then applied more ink over the whole thing. Applying ink over the already stamped images gave the card depth, as if you were really looking at a snowy evening. After that I added a sentiment.

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve! I have to get ready to go to a family get together I mentioned yesterday. I spent awhile yesterday trying to look up hairstyles I could do that would work with my hair...but the length and texture my hair is, nothing seems to work with it. But I'm going to try something anyway. I'll let you know how it goes.

I simply stamped the trees, the snow and the sentiment. Fun and CAS.

Pastel Snowflake

Hey again! I've got a card for the current Curtain Call Challenge-,Sweet Snowflakes and this was the inspiration:

And here is my creation:

I was inspired by the lovely pastels colors and the snowflakes. First I embossed the snowflake in white then I applied some lovely pastel chalk inks over it.

I also added a sentiment in black, but I think it was a bit too contrasting with the rest of the card and kinda ruined the whole card.

'Till next time!

Lime Green Flowers

Hello all! It's me again and guess what? This is my third day in a row posting! Yay! Today I have a card for the current Runway Inspired Challenge! Here was the inspiration:

And here is my card:

I took inspiration from the lime-green color basic of the outfit. I embossed a bunch of flowers and leaves in white then I painted over them with green watercolors and added a green sentiment.

Why is it I can't resist added splatters to almost every. single. card. I make? :)

It snowed here again today! I am loving the snow, it is so beautiful!
And I can't believe that Christmas is only in 7 days! ack!

Hello Flowers

Hey again! Yay! Posts two days in a row! :) Hopefully it will stay like this! I've got a card using some lovely My Mind's Eye stamps.

I stamped the flowers in a simple color scheme, and added a sentiment and some Studio Calico wood shapes.

I love the look of this card...very simple, and to the point.
I hardly ever use flowers on my cards....it seems like everyone does so easily, but I have trouble making them work on my cards. I'm not sure why, but thats ok with me! I'll just admire everyone else's gorgeous flower cards.

\

I've been thinking about placing an order from Simon Says Stamp and then not opening it until Christmas...like a Christmas present from me to me...lol. :)

Let it Snow, Let It Snow, Let it Snow

I know, I know, in my last post I said I would be back in a few days. But I got sick with a cold...but I am back now! I can't stop creating cards with a snow theme...here is a "let it snow" card!

I started out by cutting some patterned paper into strips then adhering it to a die cut circle, then trimming and diecutting  the circle again to round off the edges, so it would be a nice smooth circle.

Then I stamped some lovely Lawn Fawn trees onto the circle, then adhered the circle to the card and added a sentiment.

I love how the dots look like snow falling down. Kinda a fun and cute card with a modern twist.

I must admit I cannot get enough of Lawn Fawn's Let It Snow set. It is gorgeous! You will be seeing more cards using it on the blog soon!

Here in the Finger Lakes of New York we have about 6-8 inches of snow! It's gorgeous! I want to go skiing! And ice fishing..but it is still too soon for that. :)

A Christmas Card

Hello all! Have you noticed the changes around here? First of all, my blog name is no longer "Just Me Bethany." It is now "Raindrops on the Stars." And I have a new blog header! :) More changes are also on the way, but for now, here is a Christmas card:

My inspiration for this came from a card I saw awhile ago, and I'm not sure who made it...I think perhaps Aimes? But the card used sun rays for trees! So that is what I did here. I took one of the sun rays from "Hello Sunshine" from PTI and used it as a tree. Fun and modern.

I shall be back in the next few days!
In other news, I got a deer on Sunday! It is a nice doe. :)
