Cure for The Monday Blues: Strictly Sparkle

Hey all! Hope you had a lovely day! I've been wanting to play along with Taheerah's Cure For the Monday Blues Challenge for a bit, and I finally had to the chance to make a card for it yesterday! The inspiration this week was gorgeous:

And here is my creation:

I was first inspired by the flowers. And then the black stripes. And the glitter. And then I took inspiration from the whole layout of the photo. The flowers at the top and the black stripes going across the top and glitter at the bottom. And the colors. Yep, I took inspiration from ALOT of things in that photo. :)
I don't normally do that!

I did some masking for the flowers and stripes. I love the results that you get with masking. All the work is really worth it.

Thanks to Taheerah for the lovely challenge!

Sweet Spring

Hey! I'm popping in this evening with a card for the this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

I was totally inspired by the butterfly image in the lower left hand corner.

I was loving those butterflies, so I grabbed my Butterfly Dreams set. I stamped a bunch of the polka dot butterflies in some softer colors and added some more detailed butterflies in grey ink.

I also threw in some splatters from spray mists.

I'll have a new video for my Color Wash series soon! I filmed a couple more today! :)
And I should be getting a PTI order tomorrow, so I might do a haul video!

WPlus9 Birthday Celebration!

Hey everyone, and good evening! This month is WPlus9's birthday celebration! The challenge this week is Trend Watch. The trends I picked for my card are watercolor (I'm sure you knew even I would pick it!) and misting. Of course, they are both messy! You know me!

I broke out a pearlescent watercolor set I have, and stamped some feathers in some more citrus-type colors of the watercolors. I also added some misting to the card.

The above photos shows a bit of the metallic look the watercolors give.

Be back soon!

I did lots of fussy cutting here. This card has so much dimension, even more so when you see it in person.

I also added some color wash splatters. Bright, cheery and fun!

Have a great weekend!

Let it Snow Matching Card and Envelope

Hey, it's me! I'm here with an entry for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge. Tomorrow is release day! Hooray! I can't wait! :D Anyway, today's challenge was to create a matching card and envelope! Fun! Here you go:

Okay, so, I love this very much, so there are tons of photos of it!

I stamped the watercolors strokes, then masked off an area and stamped the snowflakes. I then added some adhesive strips, sprinkle on some glitter, added a sentiment and ta-da!

I did pretty much the same for the envelope except no masking. Actually, I forgot to stamped the snowflakes until AFTER the glitter was added, but I was actually able to stamp over the glitter and it worked great!

My mom pointed out I used the colors on the shirt I was wearing today! Haha! I never noticed that until she pointed it out!

Tomorrow sure is going to be a fun day for me! First of all, it is PTI release day, and I am going ice fishing in the morning and then downhill skiing in the afternoon! oh yeah! Totally fun! :D

A Card Without a White Card Base

A Card WITHOUT a white card base!!! If you know my cards, you know that is the base for pretty much every. single. card. I ever make. Here's the story: Today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge was to roll a die (or a random number generator, which is what I used) to decide which item, color, embellishment, etc. you would use. There were 9 lists, one for each DT member, and you would roll a die for each list. I hope that makes sense! ;) Anyway, here is what I ended up with for this card:
  • Simply Chartreuse
  • Berry Sorbet
  • Hibiscus Burst
  • True Black
  • Birthday Card
  • Generation Stamping
  • Thread
  • Brads
  • and the #1 sketch below

So, no white. ack! I was not too sure what to do. But I put this together:

I know the photo is awful, but I had to take it after dark. So, sorry about that!

Anyway, I'll be back with another entry in a few minutes.

Thank You

Hey again! I'm here with another entry for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Contest. Like I said in my previous post, today's contest was to use stripes!

I stamped a bunch of wide stripes on my card, stamped the sentiment, then stamped the rest of the stripes the rest of the way up the card.

I can't get enough of the gorgeous font in the Pedal Pusher set. Wowza. This font is just stunning. Very eye-catching!

I've been watching some of the Olympics! So much fun!

Green, Blue and Yellow

Hey again! This is my second post today! Green, Blue, and Yellow together seems to be quite popular right now. I used it on a card for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Contest, which was to use a large word as a focal point!

I embossed the sentiment and then brushed some color washes made from gelatos over it. Fun and easy!

Sorry, the colors aren't real true because of the awful photos taken after dark.

Watercolor Congrats

Good evening, but I guess it is more like night now! lol. I've got a card to share with you for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary contest. Sorry the photos will be awful, but I wasn't able to make any cards until after dark today, so I had to photograph them after dark. I tried my best, but they still don't look too good Oh well. Here you are:

Today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary contest was to use a word as a focal point. Nichole's post suggested using word dies or alphabet stamps. gulp. I have none of those! So I was thinking of what I could use, and I thought of my lovely Think Big Favorites which I love so much. Yay! Problem solved! I was able to create a couple cards with these! :D This one was a pretty simple card to do.

I embossed the sentiment and then brushed some color washes over it, trimmed the panel and then adhered it to the card!

I'll be back in a few minutes with another card!

Aloha! Hope you had a lovely weekend! I'm popping in with a few quick posts for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Contest. Today's challenge was to create a birthday card for Papertrey Ink!

I went a very CAS route. I masked off an area, stamped the sun rays, and added a sentiment.

And yes, I resisted throwing in any watercolor splatters. ;)

And here is a picture of me and the card. Thanks to my sis for the photos!

Smile

Hey again! I'm here again with another entry for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary contest. Again, as I said in my previous post, the challenge today was to create a 4 x 3 flat card and decorate it! I have other entries but I didn't want to give you too many posts tonight, so my other entries are in my Flickr photostream.

This was oh so fun to make! I stamped all the ikat images, then stamped the "smile" and finished it off with some red spray mist.

I hope to be able to create for tomorrow's contest, but we are having company over like I said, and I don't know if I'll get anything in. I hope I'll be able to do at least one project!

Beautiful Flowers

Hope you've had a great Friday! I got some papercrafting in, and watched a movie and just kinda relaxed and helped my mom get ready for some company that is coming over tomorrow. I made some 4 x 3 flat ATC type cards for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary Contest. Here is one of them:

I must say, I had lots of fun working with the a  small 4 x 3 space.  For this little piece I stamped the flowers and embossed their outlines in gold. I love how there are stray pieces of embossing powder everywhere, and how the outlines aren't lined up perfectly, which gives it a very free, artistic look. (Which I think is my trademark look)

I'll be back in a few minutes with another post!

Jesus saves!

Sending Sunshine

Here is my second entry for today's Papertrey Ink Anniversary contest. The challenge was to pull out 7 supplies in 7 minutes, then take those supplies and make a card in 17 minutes.

My 7 supplies for this card were 1. White cardstock. 2. Hello Sunshine stamp set. 3. Summer Sunrise ink pad. 4. Pure Poppy ink pad. 5. Tuxedo Black ink pad. 6. Spritz/water bottle filled with water. 7. (I didn't know if this counted or not, so I counted it) a clear block.

I made this card in 10 minutes and 9 seconds. To make it, I would ink up a stamp, then spritz it in water, then stamp it. I did this for everything except the sentiment. I love doing anything that involves water or wetness when I'm papercrafting. I am such a messy papercrafter. lol. :)

I don't want to give you too many posts (like I also did yesterday) so I'm posting the rest of my entries on my Flickr photostream.

That's all for me here tonight! I should be back tomorrow!

Jesus saves!
