Blue and Green Ombre

Hey all! It looks like we are going to get quite a bit of snow at our house tonight! I might go skiing tomorrow afternoon if the roads aren't bad. I've got a card for you tonight, and it's for the current AE I (Heart) You challenge! The theme this time was ombre.

I don't own any Avery Elle stamps (but the are on my Wish List!) so I used one of their lovely digi stamps.

I printed out the digital stamp on cardstock and a sheet of printer paper. I cut out the large oval part of the printer paper and used it as a mask over the cardstock.

I used an ink applicator to blend some inks onto the pattern in an ombre fashion.

After the whole pattern was covered in ink, I took off the mask, and cut out the shape/frame from the cardstock. Then I took a card base, made some color washes, and splattered the card in an ombre look.
You can't see it well in the photos, but there is lots of lighter colored splatter at the bottom of the card.

I also painted over the "Best Wishes" with some color washes, then adhered the frame to the card base.

High Gloss Sunshine

Aloha! It's me here! Today I'm entering a card in Papertrey Ink's March Blog Hop. The them this month was High Gloss...so pretty much adding gloss to your projects.

I stamped a backround of various lines, then stamped and embossed the sun burst in clear embossing powder.

I also stamped a sentiment. Then, of course, I had to do something with water or wetness. lol. You know me!  So I made a color wash and painted over the whole card to give the "gloss" some added "pop!" And give the card an artistic touch.

Hope you are having a nice day!
I start work again next week, so I don't think I'll be around as much. I'll still try though!

Watercolors + Gold

I just had to get in one last entry for Virginia's View Challenge. :D

This was a super fun one! I made some watercolors from gelatos. Then I stamped and embossed the butterflies on a sheet of cardstock, painted over them with the watercolors, then cut them out.

I also watercolored onto the card itself, and then adhered the butterflies. I thought the card need a wee bit more, so I stamped some flowers with the watercolors, and added a sentiment.

Have a lovely Tuesday!

Triangle Confetti

This is my second post today.
Hey everyone! I'm back again this time with an entry for this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday. This week had such a fun theme....confetti from PTI dies!

I created some triangle confetti from one of PTI's cover plates.

I created a vellum "pocket" with a panel of vellum, simply adhering it to the card base, leaving one side open until it was filled with the confetti, then I adhered it closed.

I added a border with some cardstock strips, and I adhered some of the confetti on top of the vellum pocket.

By the way, I'm trying to make better photos, and I've been trying to take photos right on my workspace. What do you think?

Pink Galaxy

Hey everybody! I just can't stop making cards for Virginia's View challenge. Watercolors are sooo much fun! :D I've been loving the galaxy/starfield look that is popular lately. I was inspired by this:

I LOVE the galaxy deer silhouette. And the colors are gorgeous.

I applied some gelatos and inks to my craft sheet, misted on some water (making watercolors), then applied this to my card by lying the card on top of it. I also added some homemade white watercolor splatters. And I saw a card where someone had used gesso as stars on a card. So I splattered in some gesso for "stars!"

I'm not sure this still looks galaxy-ish. But I still think it's pretty! I would love it if a stamp company made a stamp set with galaxy stamps....not stars, but galaxynebula type images.

I'll be back later today!
I'm off to play a game with my sis and maybe my mom, while watching some Star Trek! :D

Watercolor Triangles

Aloha! Hope you are having a lovely Saturday! I've got another entry for Virginia's View challenge. And I think it is SO sweet that Virginia comments with such lovely comments! So thanks Virginia! Anyhoo, here's my card:

This was a fun one to make! I stamped with some homemade watercolors made with my lovely gelatos!
I just color my gelatos onto my craft sheet, add some water, swish it around and ta-da! I have watercolors! :D

I think the color combo makes the triangles look like fire. Pretty neat!

I went skiing Thursday. It was beautiful! They didn't groom much of the ski slope, so the snow was a little hard to ski through. (And one time I fell and got a face full of snow! lol) But it was an amazing day nonetheless.

Be back soon. (Tomorrow, I hope!)

Virginia's View-Watercolor!

Hey! Sorry it's been a bit quiet around here. I got a cold earlier this week so I wasn't able to create again 's until yesterday. I am SO excited about Virginia's new challenge: Virginia's View. I created LOTS of cards for it yesterday. I did a couple of videos too...the first should be up soon! Anyhoo...here is an entry for the challenge. The theme was watercolor!

I needed some inspiration so I used this image:

I stamped and embossed some lines in an arrow pattern, like in the inspiration photo.

Then I made some watercolors with dye inks, and painted in between the embossed areas. Oh, how fun!

I also watercolor painted the "birthday" die cut.

I might make some more cards for this challenge today! I'm so excited for Virginia with her new challenge! I love it!

Jesus saves!

Hey all! I'm here today with another video in my Color Wash series. This one is all about stamping with color washes. And you notice to 1 in the title? Yep, this is just one way to stamp with color washes. I'll have a 2nd video on how to stamp with color washes coming up! In the meantime, here is the first one!

And here are some photos of the card. Silly me, editing in the evening, forgot to put photos of the card at the end of the video! So here ya go:

Well, that's all for me today!
