Virginia's View Challenge #2: Stencil!

Aloha my followers! I know it's been awhile since I posted but I haven't had as much time to do stuff since I'm working again. :) I'm popping in with a card for the current Virginia's View challenge, and the theme is stencil! Woohoo! I love stencils! :D

And here is my card:

This was a fun one to make. I got some new crafty supplies for my birthday and I used some of them here, including the new round Tim Holtz ink blender. It is so amazing and I love using it!

I simply stenciled the card and added a wood veneer sentiment and a strip of gold glitter tape.

Easy and fun to put together, yet a very elegant trendy look when finished!

Have a lovely weekend and Happy Easter! :)

Inspired By...(Lord of the Rings)

Hey! I am so sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but I got a cold and my birthday was Wednesday, and I haven't had many new cards to show because I haven't crafted much lately! But I am here now with a card inspired by Eowyn's coronation ceremony dress from the Lord of the Rings. Here's a few photos of the dress:

I know the photos of the dress are pretty bad quality, but at least you get an idea! I was inspired by the gorgeous buttercream yellow color and in better quality photos, I think you can see a floral pattern on the dress. So here is my card:

I made the backround with assorted gelatos and then stamped and embossed the flowers and thought it could use some gold to complement it like the tiara and necklace complements the dress with gold. So I added some gold splatter.

Then I put the rest of the card together. :)

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Color Wash: Splattering with Color Washes

Good afternoon my followers! Sorry, I said I hoped to be back sooner, but I just didn't feel like posting. I've been super excited to go see Captain America: The Winter Soldier, (which I don't think I can see until tomorrow!) but I am here right now with another video for my Color Wash series.

I have to work tonight starting and I want to try to convince my dad to go to the 9:45 showing of Captain America. I think I would be able to get out of work and then just make it to the theater in time. If not, then I'll see it tomorrow, Lord-willing!

Inspired By...

Hey all! Sorry, I haven't been getting much crafting in lately. I just started work up again yesterday so it's going to be a bit more busy for me. I've decided to start a new series (and I have NOT forgotten my Color Wash video series...I plan on having a new video up for that tomorrow!) that I'm going to call Inspired By...
but it's going to be inspired by movies or tv shows I like such as Lord of the Rings, Marvel movies, Star Trek, etc. For my first card it is going to be inspired by the new Captain America movie which is going to be released on Friday! I am SO very excited! I'm going to try to make a t-shirt with the Cap's shield on it or something like that. So, sorry for the long intro I was inspired by the posters for the movie which have a very dark look (lots of navy blues) to them instead of just bright red, white and blue. I still used some red, but more blues and gray. Here are couple posters:

And here is my "Inspired By..." card:

I wanted to go with a design that was simple, yet bold and to the point. I thought it fit better with the "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" theme.

So I stamped a bunch of lines in various colors and added a sentiment.

So, is anyone else going to go see Captain America: The Winter Soldier this weekend? You should! :D
